Tamper station

The tamper station provides a good support when pressing the ground coffee into the filter holder of your portafilter espresso machine. It protects the spouts of your filter holder and your worktop from damage and optimises the pressing result.

Why do I need a tamper station?

In order for the espresso to run smoothly and avoid the infamous channeling, it is necessary to vigorously tamp the ground coffee before drawing it. As long as you use a portafilter with two outlets, this can be done easily on the worktop or a surface. It is more difficult with a portafilter with only one spout, because it only tilts. This is where the tamping station comes into play, it allows the portafilter to be suspended straight and makes tamping much easier. A tamping station also makes sense for a portafilter with a double spout, as the entire system simply stands more solidly.
