This push tamper consists of a handle and a flat base, the height of which can be adjusted. If you want to lower the base into the handle, simply turn it clockwise. Hold the upper part firmly and turn the plate; this requires some force. The plate may contain traces of the lubricant used to treat the thread – the lubricant is food-grade.

To use the push tamper correctly, a little preparation is required: You need to determine the ideal fill level for your filter basket, the perfect pressure, and the resulting ideal height of the push tamper. Once you've done that, all you need to do in the future is place the tamper on the basket and press it down until it stops. This way, even less experienced baristas can achieve the right pressure.
