The PulyCaff coffee grease remover is the organic alternative to conventional coffee grease removers. It automatically removes coffee deposits and encrustations in portafilters and filters quickly and gently. Cleaning the brewing group of coffee grease using a blind sieve (also called backflushing) is important because the coffee grease becomes rancid over time and the brewing group sticks together. You need a blind sieve, which exerts a high counter pressure on the entire brewing system due to the closed base and flushes the system backwards due to the excess pressure built up in this way.

Here are the steps:




1) Clean the brewing group including the brewing shower and sealing ring with a suitable cleaning brush.




2) Fill the coffee grease remover into the blind sieve.




3) Pour some hot water onto the grease remover in the blind sieve, it will start to foam, please wait a moment until the foaming has stopped




4) Now clamp the portafilter firmly into the brewing group.




5) Remove the cup tray from the residual water tray and press the brewing switch or lever for about 5 seconds. You will then hear the pump working much more quietly. This is the sign that the pressure is building up to maximum.




6) Now stop the process. You will hear a hissing and gurgling sound as foam comes out of the brewing group overflow at the bottom.




7) Repeat the process several times, the foam will change from white to brown, then back to white, and finally there will be no foam left.




8) Now wipe down the brewing shower, remove the blind sieve from the portafilter and clean the coffee grease from this portafilter as well, as coffee grease also accumulates under the sieve in the portafilter. Done.
