The sieve that reduces acidity in your espresso.

  • Hole pattern in the sieve bottom: »Big Bang« grid; the holes are arranged in spherically curved lines and their distance increases towards the outside. Distance between the holes: 1.5 mm (at the sieve bottom edge) - decreasing towards the inside.

Enhances sweet notes, reduces acidity


A new sieve with unusual perforation has been created in the E&B laboratory at IMS.

The reason for this hole arrangement, according to "IMS": It ensures a uniform extraction of the coffee when preparing espresso, with the sweet notes coming to the fore while the acids are reduced.

These sieves are therefore less suitable for coffees with lemony aromas. Forcing the sweeter flavors would overwhelm the citrus notes.
