The IMS Competition precision sieve with rim for two cups has IMS patented round holes with a conical cross-section that ensure better crema formation and extraction. The shape was determined by IMS to achieve the right ratio between the base and height of the coffee puck. The special shape ensures that the entire coffee puck is extracted evenly right up to the rim. Due to its height, this sieve fits well into a bottomless portafilter. The slightly convex base guides the coffee to the center and facilitates a successful bottomless extraction.
